The Rota Admirals Volleyball Team split their weekend road series, falling to defending champion Vicenza in five sets before defeating 2024 champion Aviano in four.

The Rota Admirals Volleyball Team earned an impressive split on the road this past weekend, taking on the last two European Volleyball Division II Champions.

On Friday night, the Admirals battled the defending champion Vicenza Cougars in a thrilling five-set showdown. The match saw both teams trading sets, with Vicenza claiming sets one and three, and Rota responding by taking sets two and four. In a dramatic finish, Vicenza narrowly edged out the Admirals in the decisive fifth set, 18–16.

Rota bounced back strong on Saturday morning with a statement win over the 2024 European Champion Aviano Saints. The Admirals outplayed the offensive powerhouse in four sets, securing a 3–1 victory.

Over the two-match stretch, the Admirals were led by standout performances from Jourdan Timmons, who tallied 24 kills, 30 assists, and 7 aces, and Amaya Petty, who added 23 kills, 12 assists, and 10 aces. On the defensive end, Jeanice DeSilva anchored the back row with a team-high 26 digs.

The Admirals return home for their first home matches of the season on Saturday, September 27, 2026, with a doubleheader against the Sigonella Jaguars at 0900 and 1300.
