Middle School Robotics Teams Reach New Heights at District FLL Competition

This season marked a milestone year for our Middle School Robotics program as our teams competed in the District FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) competition alongside nearly 200 teams from across Europe. 
Preparation for the competition began in late November, when students committed to practicing weekly. As the season intensified, dedication grew even stronger. By late February and throughout March, team members met twice a week, refining their robot designs and programming solutions in preparation for competition day on March 17.
Our Middle School teams also benefited from the guidance and leadership of Brandon, an 11th grade student mentor, who supported all three groups throughout the season. Brandon worked closely with students during practices, helping them develop programming strategies, refine designs, and stay focused on the FIRST Core Values. 
All of our students demonstrated determination throughout the season, including West, who continued to compete solo after his partner was no longer able to participate. West’s commitment and perseverance exemplified the spirit of FIRST and reflected his willingness to adapt, problem solve independently, and push forward despite challenges.
Out of our three Middle School robotics teams, two advanced from the district competition to the Championship level—an extraordinary accomplishment in a field of nearly 200 teams. One Championship team consisted of Maddux and Caleb, who demonstrated strong technical performance, collaboration, and perseverance throughout the season.
At the Championship, our 7th grade team, Elyexard and Austin, achieved an outstanding 3rd place finish overall. This achievement represents a historic first for our Middle School Robotics program and reflects the growth and potential of our students.
Each student involved should be incredibly proud of their commitment and achievements. We congratulate all our robotics members Maddux, Caleb, West, Elyexard, and Austin, as well as Brandon for his leadership and mentorship in helping guide the teams to success.
As we look ahead, this season’s achievements lay a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation in Middle School Robotics. We are excited to see where future teams will take us next.
