Rota MHS NJROTC hosted its first Promotion Ceremony of the year, celebrating cadets who earned new ranks through demonstrated knowledge, improved fitness, strong followership, and community service.

Rota Middle High School’s NJROTC unit proudly held its first Promotion Ceremony of the year, marking an important milestone for both new and returning cadets. This ceremony represents far more than a change in rank. It is a celebration of commitment, character, and the hard work our cadets invest every day.

To earn promotion, each cadet met a series of rigorous requirements that reflect the values and expectations of our program. Cadets demonstrated proficiency in recalling the Orders of the Sentry, the NJROTC Chain of Command, and our Unit Chain of Command. They also showed an understanding of proper uniform wear and, more importantly, the meaning behind it. Wearing the uniform with pride and purpose is a central part of the NJROTC experience, and our cadets take this responsibility seriously.

Physical fitness was another key component, with each cadet required to show measurable improvement. In addition, cadets demonstrated their growing competence in drill, military ceremonies, and basic followership skills which are foundational elements that build confidence, teamwork, and discipline.

Finally, service to others remains at the heart of NJROTC. As part of their promotion criteria, every cadet must participate in at least three community service events for each rank they aspire to achieve. These experiences not only strengthen our school’s connection to the broader community but also help cadets understand the impact they can make through service.

None of this would be possible without the steady leadership and mentorship of CWO Patton and SCPO James. Their dedication to our cadets, both in skill development and character growth, has shaped a program our school is truly proud of. We are grateful for the time, energy, and heart they pour into Rota MHS NJROTC each day.

We are incredibly proud of our NJROTC cadets and the dedication they continue to show. Congratulations to all who earned promotion. You embody the values of leadership, responsibility, and service that define the Admiral spirit. We look forward to seeing your continued growth throughout the year.
