Principal's Note
Dear Admirals,
It was another great week at Rota MHS. Between AP Exams, STAMP testing, athletics, clubs, and everyday learning, our students continue to impress us with their resilience, focus, and commitment during one of the busiest times of the school year.
As we head into the final three weeks of the school year, there is still so much happening at Rota MHS. From final projects and performances to competitions, celebrations, and exams, our students are continuing to work hard and stay engaged through a very busy season. Senior Finals will take place the week of May 26, followed by finals for all other students during the first week of June. Every day counts right now. Attendance matters, effort matters, and finishing strong matters. We encourage all students to stay focused and make these final weeks count.
Families, if you have not completed re-registration, this must be done as soon as possible. We are still waiting on a significant number of students to complete the process, and this directly impacts staffing, course offerings, schedules, and planning for next school year. Whether your family is remaining in Rota or PCS’ing this summer, we urgently need every family to complete re-registration immediately. Please do not wait.
Middle school families, be sure to check the calendar! Tonight is our JLS Lock-In, and the Middle School Dance will take place tomorrow evening. It is shaping up to be an exciting and memorable weekend for our middle school students.
We also have a very busy calendar ahead as we move toward the end of the year, including the JROTC Ball tonight, Prom on May 30, awards ceremonies, field day, graduation, and many other celebrations and events still to come. This time of year always moves quickly, and we are looking forward to celebrating our students along the way.
As always, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and support of Rota Middle High School. We are grateful for this community and proud of our Admirals every single day.

School Procedures
DoWEA School Dress Code
Students MUST wear:
- Tops with sleeves (sleeveless tops/dresses are permitted for school sponsored formal events such as prom)
- Solid clothing (not transparent or translucent) that fully covers the top and bottom from armpit to mid-thigh
- Shoes (shoes must be safe for the school environment)
- Bedroom slippers shall not be worn, except for school activities approved by the principal
- Open toe shoes with a strap across the heel are allowed
Students CANNOT wear clothing with:
- Language or images promoting violence
- Language or images that depict, promote, or advocate the illegal use or sale of drugs, alcohol or tobacco products; violent conduct; curse words; pornography; that contain threats or expressions which are violent, discriminatory, lewd or obscene; or that advocate or promote any other illegal item or activity or the use of same
- Derogatory speech and/or imagery that targets groups based on race/color, ethnicity/national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Headgear that obscures the face (except as a religious observance or health purpose); clothing items with hoods attached can be worn but must not cover the head
* Teachers/courses can require certain attire as part of the curriculum (for example: physical education, culinary) that may include specific dress
* DoWEA issued athletic uniforms and athletic practice attire outside of the DoWEA school dress code is permitted when worn by participants during athletic practices and sports events
