The 2025–26 DoDEA Europe Honors Music Festival is a six-day event in Germany where over 140 high school musicians will collaborate under renowned U.S. conductors to rehearse and perform advanced music for the German-American community.

The DoDEA Europe South Music Department is thrilled to announce the upcoming Honors Music Festival, a prestigious six-day event that will bring together over 140 talented student musicians from across Europe. Scheduled for November 16–21, 2025, this festival promises to be a remarkable opportunity for students to grow musically, collaborate with peers, and perform for the German-American community.

Hosted at the scenic Familienferiendorf in Hübingen, Germany, the festival will feature intensive rehearsals and a culminating concert under the direction of two distinguished university conductors from the United States:

  • Dr. Robert Sinclair, Director of Choral Activities at VanderCook College of Music, will lead the Concert Choir.
  • Dr. Peter Boonshaft, internationally acclaimed music educator and author, will conduct the Concert Band.

Students currently in grades 8–11 (entering grades 9–12 in the 2025–26 school year) are invited to apply for either the Concert Choir or Concert Band. The application process includes submitting audition recordings and completing required forms via the Honors Music Fest Google Classroom (code: qlmenzgc).

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Participation Fee:
A registration fee of €300 covers lodging, meals, and a festival t-shirt. DoDEA Europe will cover transportation and instructional materials.

Audition Requirements:

  • Winds & String Bass: Major and chromatic scales, etude (audio/video)
  • Percussion: Mallets, snare, timpani (video)
