The Health Care Career Club welcomed Dr. Samuel I. Richards, Staff Prosthodontist, for an engaging session on dentistry and maxillofacial restoration, where students explored the intersection of medicine, engineering, and art in advanced oral and facial reconstruction. Ninth-grade Pre-AP English II students at Rota Middle High School recently combined literary analysis and historical research in a creative, hands-on project centered on the Hero’s Journey (Monomyth) and archetype analysis. Using historical fiction novels as their foundation, students designed three-dimensional cereal boxes to visually and analytically represent narrative structure, character roles, and thematic elements from their chosen books.

This quarter, our middle school science students connected classroom learning to real-world medicine through an incredible partnership with Dr. Strawn and his team from the Naval Hospital, exploring how organ systems work to keep us healthy.
