Rota MHS Shines at DoDEA-Europe FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition

We are incredibly proud to share the achievements of our students who represented Rota Middle High School at the DoDEA-Europe FIRST LEGO League robotics Sectional and Championship competition. Over three exhilarating days, our community came together to celebrate innovation, teamwork, and perseverance.
Since the "SUBMERGED" challenge was announced in late September, our school mentor, Ms. Luna, and students have been hard at work. This week's event was the culmination of their dedication and effort, and what an amazing journey it has been!
A Record-Breaking Participation
In total, 32 DoDEA-Europe schools fielded an impressive 232 teams! Each team demonstrated exceptional collaboration and problem-solving skills:
- 232 teams engineered solutions to a common challenge, not only working within their teams but also assisting their opponents to achieve their best.
- 232 teams wrote programs to autonomously accomplish missions with their robots.
- 232 teams persevered through a season of troubleshooting and overcoming obstacles.
Every team experienced success in various ways and learned valuable skills that are transferrable beyond robotics. We encourage you to ask your robotics students about their challenges and how they resolved them—they will surely have impressive stories to share.
We are especially proud of our very own Team Hedgehog from Rota MHS, who placed 15th out of 23 teams in the championship round. Their hard work, determination, and teamwork truly shone through.
