Rota Students Shine at Dramafest: A Celebration of Talent and Teamwork
Last week, drama students from Rota Middle High School showcased their dedication and creativity at the annual Dramafest. Payton M., Athena S., Brandon F., Carter G., and Becca O. represented our area with distinction, demonstrating hard work and courage throughout the event.
Leading up to Dramafest, Payton M., Brandon F., and Carter G. dedicated several weeks to honing their skills in Monologues and Duets. Their efforts culminated in impressive presentations delivered to their peers, where they received valuable feedback that undoubtedly contributed to their growth as performers.
The excitement continued throughout the week as all five students collaborated with their counterparts from other schools in a dynamic and challenging exercise. Working together, they were tasked with writing, producing, and staging an entirely original production based on a given prompt. This intensive collaboration fostered teamwork, quick thinking, and creative problem-solving.
While video footage of their final performance is eagerly anticipated, early reports indicate a resounding success. Payton M., Carter G., and Brandon F. stepped into the spotlight as actors, bringing characters to life with their talent and dedication. Behind the scenes, Athena S. provided crucial tech support, ensuring the smooth operation of the production. Completing the team, Becca O. lent her artistic eye as the make-up artist, contributing significantly to the visual storytelling on stage.
The students are to be commended not only for their hard work and the quality of their performances and technical contributions but also for their courage in presenting their work in front of peers from other schools and in being filmed.
